Once we have all the relevant information, we’ll assess the claim and give you a decision within 5 working days.

Payment
Approved claims are usually paid to pension scheme trustees within 5 working days.
How to claim
Tell us who’s retiring
After you’ve completed your usual procedures to determine whether the employee qualifies for early retirement according to the rules of the pension scheme, complete and return the claim notification form (1.7mb pdf).
Part A of the claim form is completed by you, the employer, and part B by the employee. Please make sure both parts are completed and returned to us within 90 days of the decision to retire the employee due to ill health.
Claim reviewed
We may need to ask for additional information or clarity on the details received, but once we have all the relevant information, we’ll assess the claim and give you a decision within 5 working days.
Payment
We aim to make a payment within a further 5 working days of receiving all necessary information having confirmed the employee qualifies and meets the policy definition of permanent incapacity. The amount will be paid to the pension scheme trustees.
