We’ve partnered with Ergocom to Enhance Vocational Support for Employees

We’re delighted to announce a new partnership with Ergocom, a specialist in Vocational Rehabilitation, to provide enhanced support for employees who are unable to continue in their existing roles following illness or injury. This initiative is aimed at employees following a Group Income Protection (GIP) claim and are ready to work but cannot return to their previous positions.

Our partnership will offer a comprehensive range of services, including individual assessments, detailed reporting, and coaching to help employees develop new skills and confidence. Ergocom’s Vocational Redirection Assessment will evaluate an individual’s vocational strengths, needs, and career potential, considering any barriers or functional limitations. This assessment will help identify suitable alternative opportunities.

A detailed report will be provided, outlining vocational goals, career options, job roles, and training requirements. The report will also include costed recommendations for necessary support, such as training, vocational counselling, CV development, and interview preparation. The goal is to address any barriers and facilitate a sustained return to work in a new role.

Vocational Counselling and Coaching will be delivered by Employability Specialists at Ergocom with extensive knowledge of funding for training, volunteering, self-employment, and veteran resources. The support options include group sessions, one-to-one bespoke packages, and additional assistance for those facing extra challenges, such as individuals over 50. Learning will be delivered through a blended approach, combining online and self-directed learning.

Helen Valls-Russell, Ergocom Director and Occupational Therapist, expressed excitement about the partnership: “We’re thrilled to partner with Legal & General, an organisation that shares our proactive approach to rehabilitation. We believe that good work is beneficial for health, and just because an individual can no longer do their existing role, it doesn’t mean they cannot do any role. We have expertise in working with complex cases and achieving sustained return to work for these individuals.”

Our Claims and Governance Director, Vanessa Sallows, added: “Ergocom brings a wealth of expertise in Vocational Redirection Assessment and Coaching, complementing our in-house Vocational Clinical team. This partnership will help ensure a sustainable return to work for more people, whether they can return to their existing role or not. Work is a driving force for wellbeing and recovery, and this partnership will further enhance our outcomes-focused framework to enable us to help even more people.”

This partnership underscores our commitment to supporting employee wellbeing and facilitating a smooth transition back to work, ensuring that employees, where appropriate, can find a suitable and fulfilling alternative role.
